The current church structure is in ill repair and not worth saving.
Update and expand hotel management and catering school.
Boarding quarters and trade schools are needed.
Due to its current state and size it is not cost effective to repair the existing church structure
Students come to the St. Josephs Institute with no financial means and no ability to speak English. They are provided with 8-10,000 rupees worth of uniforms and books.
Within 6 months they are taught English and hospitality skills based on the international standards of service. One job in the hospitality field can change the financial future of the students whole family!
The current students hostel building is in desperate need of renovations. Student boarding is needed due to the distances traveled by the students. The building currently only houses 20 students with the proper renovations the building can house 200!
The old structure will be dismantled and a new church constructed on a new location of the St. Josephs campus. The above picture is an actual architects rendition of the new church. The proposed estimate for the construction is 10,205,044 rupees or $159,453 dollars.
The Institute has graduated over 400 students and works to facilitate all graduates with work. Due to capacity and funding there are currently only 42 students enrolled.
These students are instructed in four areas of hotel management and catering: front office; food production; food and beverage and house keeping. Proper etiquette when interacting with guests is also stressed.
The renovation of St. Bakhita Hostel Building will provide living and working space for those suited for leaning a trade. These trades will include carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
